"New
York architect, blacksmith, and furniture maker Walter Rossi
has attempted to solve any host's seating dilemma, and create a colorful
conversation piece at the same time, with the creation of his custom
wrought-iron Steppe Bench.... The multicolored upholstered bench,
fashioned like a set of stairs, is strongly influenced by Rossi's love of
architecture. "I think about the relationship of objects to the
ground, like skyscrapers," he says, noting that everything he creates is
designed to be flexible for ease and mobility while entertaining.
Besides, he adds, doesn't everyone at a party usually end up sitting on the
stairs?
